How do you remove rust from carbon steel?
You have to place coarse salt on the rust and use some cooking or vegetable oil. Scrub the salt and oil into the rust with a soft cloth or paper towel. Use a small circular motion to remove any traces of rust. After that, you will want to re-season the pan.
